“I was the girl who played dress up and dreamt of being on the cat walk. I was the girl who collected fashion magazines even in school. I was the girl who hoped for a life outside a 9-5 job, but I lived my life carefully partitioned between what was safe and secure (which landed me in the rat race of the corporate life, locking my creativity in a box and stifling my soul). My last stint was heading marketing for the TV Channel FOX Life in India. With no salary in my account but with a lot of heart I set out to follow my passion for beauty and make-up. Manjari, loves every genre of makeup, her favorites are the film, fashion, editorial and the wedding industries. She stated to enjoy being versatile and believes this is the only way you can get a never-ending learning experience from your job.
Although Malik is based in Delhi (India), she travels globally doing freelance makeup artistry and even though, her new journey has just begun, she has had amazing experiences in the last couple of years: she was selected to work at the Cannes Film Festival (2018), performing hair & make-up for renowned Bollywood actress Huma Quereshi and for the Israeli influencer and ball room dancer, Anna Arapov; she was awarded “Best Wedding Make-up Artist 2017” (ICFW GIWA Awards); she has become a Bollywood, theater and TV celebrity Make-up artist, some of her clientes are Kalki Koechlin, Huma Quereshi, Richa Chaddha, Miss Malini, Ira Dubey, Ambika Anand, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Cherie Blaire and Teena Singh; she has been part of the backstage makeup artist team in the India Fashion Week AW17, also in the London Fashion Week SS17 and she has done makeup for a Cosmopolitan magazine Cover Shoot with Bollywood actress duo Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chaddha issued on December 2017, to mention a few.
Finally, Malik believes being an IMA certified makeup artist benefited her career, thus knowing the latest makeup application techniques and being professional are key to succeed in the industry.
