Laura Hannon, is the Education Director and Founder at The Central School of Makeup in Birmingham, one of our IMA accredited schools in the United Kingdom. She has worked over 15 years internationally as a freelance make-up artist, successfully incorporating her role as international Examiner for the International Make-up Association (IMA). Hannon, is the true example of a successful makeup artist for the IMA, she has her own makeup school, nowadays; however, built up her career from scratch.
She gained a prestigious reputation in the industry over the years, having worked with some major brands such as Chanel, Amanda Wakeley and Louis Vuitton. She even had guest presenter role on television being a Brand Ambassador. For over a decade building her portfolio, she has had the opportunity to work with many famous models, make-up artists, top photographers and celebrities. She worked for the BBC, on television commercials and on the feature film ‘Coco Avant Chanel’. Throughout her career, Laura has participated Haute Couture and Ready to Wear catwalk shows in both London and Paris and shoots for celebrities such as Daisy Lowe, Jeff Brazier, Freddie Flintoff and Beverley Knight. Last but not least, she recently was part of the jury in the Midlands Beauty Industry Awards 2018, this event aims to acknowledge and celebrate the best of the beauty industry in Midlands in England.
We hope for every IMA graduate to have the knowledge and the capability to build a career so fulfilling as Laura’s. Therefore, our curriculum includes an education based not only on makeup and hygiene application techniques. It also promotes learning the administrative, social and financial side of the make-up artist’s business.
